Ember the Bengal is a sassy and gorgeous 4 year old looking for a low-stress, cat savvy place to call home. She was originally surrendered to the SPCA as the other cat in the home was starting to bully her. This as well as changes in the environment led to Ember peeing outside the litter box, and specifically on beds. She was adopted into a lower stress home but sadly her inappropriate urination continued. She does use her litter box in the shelter and has not had any problems here. There are things adopters can try such as diet, anxiety meds, leash training to go outside, different litter options and such to try and work on this issue but it may be something she will always do. She would do best in a adult home without children or other animals who may stress her.
Ember can be a little shy but once comfortable is affectionate, loves to be pet, and explore. She did go outside in her previous home but as a Bengal we recommend doing this on leash or in a secure outdoor enclosure. She is a girl with a lot to say and often communicates with a grumbly sort of growl. Bengal cats are known for being talkers. Her playful side really comes out with fun dangly toys, so a home that can keep her playing would be best. They are an energetic breed that needs lots of enrichment provided. Amber doesn't really like to be picked up but will happily sit on your lap for hours while you watch TV.
Adopters must show that they have done research into the Bengal breed or show they have breed experience before their application will be considered. If you would like to welcome this precious gem into your life you can submit your application to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-922-4622. A counseling session is required before adopting any animal.
