Position: Intermediate Software Developer Reports toDirector of Professional Development Services Works withProfessional Development Services, Technical Services, Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Delta Partners, Customers and End Users Immediate subordinatesNot applicable Compensation:$65,000 - $80,000 Annually Work Location:In-office environment that is currently 3 days per week City:Surrey Type:Permanent Job Summary Professional Development Services (PDS) provides advanced technical services and engineering assistance to our customers, including our global network of distributors, OEM clients, and Direct Accounts. For each project, we work closely with the customer to develop the exact solution they need, either by customizing existing Delta products, or by creating innovative new solutions. The position being offered includes providing the following services: * Sales consultation and solution conceptualization * Full-stack web development * System integration assistance (BACnet, Modbus, Node-Red, other building control protocols, room booking software, ODBC interfaces) * Python development for embedded integration modules * Controller embedded software modificationsAs an Intermediate Software Developer within our PDS team your skills will allow you to customize or modify our existing web based facilities management software, create custom add-ons, and develop software modules to integrate to other applications. Your experience with back end web programming and python development allows you to create innovative, effective, and easy to use applications that exceed the expectations of the customer. Working knowledge of Delta Controls embedded software is an asset. Main Duties & Responsibilities The candidate is a solution focused individual who is comfortable working with both internal and external contacts. In your role, you will: * Evaluate the feasibility of requests * Ensure projects are completed to a high quality with minimal errors * Work with Team Lead to layout, design and architect projects * Provide input into project scopes and project estimates * Complete projects with minimal supervision * Provide support for projects the Professional Development Services group has completed * Continually add to your understanding of software development methods and technologies * Demonstrate a productivity level that our customers have come to expectSecondary Duties As part of the PDS team, the Intermediate Software Developer may be called upon to assist in providing other PDS services as the need arises. These services may include; * Technical Support * Documentation * Travel to site * Any other duties that may be required for the successful operation of the PDS EnterpriseDesirable Qualifications * Experience integrating web services and APIs using JSON * Experience working on embedded solutions * Experience with relational databases * Experience with Zend Framework and MVC architecture * Experience using source control repositories such as GIT * Knowledge of HVAC systems and how they operateMinimum Qualifications * A minimum of 2 years applied experience as a software developer * Degree or Technical Certification from an accredited Electronics Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Web Technologies program, or equivalent experience * Experience using web technologies including HTML, PHP, SQL databases, and JavaScript to create responsive websites * Strong communication skills including verbal, written and drawing / visual techniques * Ability to work independently, and quickly change focus between multiple projects * Self-driven and results oriented * Strong creative skills and attention to detail * Ability to prioritize responsibilities and be flexible in a demanding environmentApply online at: https://deltacontrols.com/careers/#general_applications Company: Delta Controls Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 Annually Contract: PERMANENT
